This Privacy Policy describes how 1 to 10 and Then ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the 1 to 10 and Then mobile application (the "App") and related services on 1to10andthen.com.
The App is a conversation game. You can play on one shared phone (pass-the-phone), or you can optionally play with other phones over the internet by creating or joining a room. One-phone play keeps names, scores, and favorites on that device. Internet rooms send a small amount of session data to our room servers so every phone stays in sync. We may also receive limited technical and product-usage information from release builds (analytics and crash diagnostics), information you choose to send (suggestions), and purchase confirmations from the app stores.
1. Who we are
Operator: 1 to 10 and Then
Website:
https://1to10andthen.com/
Contact:
[email protected]
2. Information stored on your device
The App stores preferences and play-related data locally on your device (for example via on-device storage). This may include:
- Player names you enter for a session
- Ratings and in-round scores while you play
- Favorites, tips on/off, language choices, reflection settings
- Suggested questions you save on the device
- Which content decks you have unlocked
On one-phone play, the current round stays on that device and is not uploaded as part of normal play. Force-quitting the App ends the current round; preferences may still remain on the device until you clear app data or uninstall.
3. Multi-device rooms (optional)
Create room and Join room are optional. They need an internet connection. Pass-the-phone still works fully on one phone without a room.
If you create or join a room, the App sends session data to our room service at rooms.1to10andthen.com (hosted by Cloudflare) so the phones in that room can play together. That may include:
- The first name (or nickname) you enter for that session
- A short room code, and join links such as 1to10andthen.com/join/
- Scores, whose turn it is, and other in-round play actions
- Language choices for that room
- Technical connection details needed to keep the room working (for example whether a phone is still connected, and a coarse app/build version)
Rooms do not create an account. Other people in the same room can see the names used in that room. We do not use room play data for advertising.
An idle room is deleted after about two hours with no activity. We may also keep short operational logs (for example a room code and connection events, not a lasting player profile) so we can run and debug the service. Counts of how many rooms ran may be kept without names.
4. Information you may send to us
If you use Suggest a question or Make an App suggestion, and you confirm sending, the App transmits the text you wrote (and related deck context) to our servers at 1to10andthen.com for review and possible inclusion. We ask for consent the first time you send.
Do not include personal information you do not want us to receive in those suggestions (for example email addresses, phone numbers, or names of private third parties).
5. Purchases
Optional deck unlocks and bundles are sold as in-app purchases through the Google Play Store and/or the Apple App Store. Payment details are handled by Google or Apple, not by us. We may receive purchase confirmation / product identifiers needed to unlock content and to restore purchases on your device.
6. Product analytics
Some release builds use PostHog (via our proxy at e.1to10andthen.com) to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. When enabled, this may include an anonymous device or install identifier, app open / lifecycle signals, and coarse product events (for example first card played, first reveal, paywall shown, or a purchase completed). We do not use PostHog session replay, and we do not turn on automatic touch or screen recording. Analytics is used for product improvement, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.
7. Crash and diagnostic data
Some release builds may use Sentry to receive crash and error diagnostics so we can fix bugs. When enabled, this may include technical information such as device/OS details, app version, and stack traces. We configure diagnostics not to send default personally identifying information. If diagnostics are not configured for a build, this data is not sent.
8. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising in the App.
- We do not use the App for cross-app tracking or advertising identifiers for ads.
- We do not require an account to play.
9. Children
The App is a conversation game intended for adults and mature audiences. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. How long we keep information
On-device data remains until you clear it or uninstall the App. Room session data is kept only while the room is active and is removed when the room expires or is ended (about two hours of inactivity, or sooner if the game is quit). Suggestions you submit are kept as long as reasonably needed to review them and operate the product. Analytics events, crash reports, and short room operational logs are retained according to our providers’ retention settings and our need to improve and debug the App.
11. Your choices
- Play on one phone only — Create room and Join room are optional. Names and scores from one-phone play stay on the device.
- Decline sending suggestions — core play still works without them.
- Uninstall the App or clear app storage to remove on-device App data and stop further analytics / diagnostics from that install.
- Manage or cancel purchases through Google Play or the App Store.
- Request deletion of suggestion text, leftover room session data, or related information you sent to our servers by emailing [email protected]. Include the room code if you have it. We will take reasonable steps to delete that information, subject to any legal retention needs. An expired room often already has nothing left to delete.
12. Third-party services
Depending on platform and build configuration, the App may interact with:
- Google Play / Apple for distribution and in-app purchases
- Our website APIs on 1to10andthen.com for optional suggestions
- Cloudflare, for optional multi-device rooms at rooms.1to10andthen.com
- PostHog for optional product analytics (via e.1to10andthen.com)
- Sentry for optional crash diagnostics
Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies when you use their services.
13. International users
We may process information in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. If you contact us from another region, your information may be transferred to those locations.
14. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
